THIS IS HALLOWEEN. THIS IS HALLOWEEN. As it turns out, between Sweeney Todd and Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton can put on one really good musical. Nightmare Before Christmas follows Jack Skellington the major of Halloween Town which is a really creepy town with weird spooky creatures.
The story starts with Jack, the Pumpkin King, accidentally stumbling into Christmas Town where he finds Santa hard at work on his toys. Jack becomes obsessed with Christmas and therefore announces that Halloween Town will take over Christmas this year. It turns out going downhill and this evil Trio of kids kidnap Santa and Oogie Boogie, the villian, tries to eat him. Jack saves the day with the help of his adorable ghost dog Zero and ends up with the weird ragdoll girl Sally.
If you like weird campy animated films this movie is your cup of tea. It's a classic so I recommend seeing it. Danny Elfman's voice is enjoyable to listen to and if you need holiday songs for your Ipod this is the soundtrack to buy.
