Hotel Rwanda (war movie)

This non-fiction war drama expressed the struggle of one man's struggle to save over 1200 refugees in the Rwandan "acts of"(as the UN took to calling it) Genocide. This movie truly did justice to the plight of the Rwandan people and the courage of Paul Rusesabagina a simple hotel manager who used his wisdom and career long connections to help out as many people as he could. Don Cheedle played played Paul in an excellent oscar winning performance which truly allowed me to step into this conflict and identify with the affected individuals. I did not expect watching this movie to be such an emotional experience. It was composed of escalations and cycles of relief and agony as the massacre continued somehow managing to be terrible in ways that bar desensitization. Even the finale of the movie, a "happy ending, was encapsulated by sadness. This was a phenomenal movie which I would rate a 9/10, a film I would recommend everyone watch.
