Mad Max (Oscar nominated)

The movie that I watched this weekend was Mad Max. I have heard from a lot of people that this movie was great and really cool, but it honestly disappointed me. I thought that the costume design and the setting was portrayed really well, but the thing that I thought lacked was the story line. It upsetted me that Max made it all the way out of Aqua Cola and then learned that there was no civilization and had to come all the way back to overthrow the leader. I don't like that and it seemed a little too unrealistic (even though the movie is in the future and full of unrealistic things). I thought that the violence and fighting scenes were very impressive and it was full of action and some parts of the movie scared me (the guitar guy gave me nightmares). I think my disappointment was partly because of the setting. It seemed empty and the concept of the entire world being a wasteland really made me feel uncomfortable and I really wanted Max to find a land which had plants growing and an environment that was flourishing. Because of this I would have to give the movie a 6/10, but I would recommend it to a friend to watch.
