Prometheus - SciFi

This week, i watched Prometheus for my science fiction movie. I have never seen any of the other alien movies, and since this was a prequel, i figured it would be a better place to start. I can assume it did a decent job setting up for the other movies, but prequels done after the original movies sometimes pander to the audience having already seen the original, which is what this movie felt like. I was annoyed with all the dumb decisions the characters make in this movie. When there's a giant object falling towards the crew of the Prometheus, they just run in a straight line instead of to the side or something to avoid it. The movie doesn't have any glaring visual issues and some scenes do have a lot of tension and surprise to them, but i feel like the effect has been lost on me because they probably recreated the tension found in the original alien movies. The movie wasn't bad, but i think i should have seen the original alien first to have the prequel make more sense. I would overall rate this movie a 6 out of 10
