hunger games

I, probably like a lot of other students, watched the hunger games. I loved the book so much. And it was directed by the author, well partially. I have watched it before but haven't seen it in a while and I know how the movies are rarely better than the book but I think the hunger games movie did a pretty good job. Of course it left a ton of stuff out but it's hard to fit everything in a 2 hour film. When choosing what to take out, I think they did a great job. They didn't take out anything super important or valuable to the book. But sometimes they left out just tiny details that I think would have helped it seem just as epic and original as the book. Like the book was very successful for a reason, it was better than all of the other science fiction type of books because of many things. Like sub plots etc. without reading the book the film just seems like a great science fiction movie, but not original. Like the music in the background and the camera angles and special affects were just like any other movie of its kind. The movies plot was great, because it was based off the book. But what makes a book based movie different is by how the characters and setting and everything was already made for them. And that was great! But the stuff the directors and stuff had to make, camera angles, etc was just like any other movie. What I'm trying to say is, the movie was great because it was based off an amazing book that was already written. But how they portrayed it was nothing special. But they did a great job sticking to the book. I think the color scheme used in the districts was awesome. They used cold colors and that helped create an uncomfortable feeling. 7/10
