The Lone Ranger (Western)

What the Heck was this movie? I have so many mixed emotions about it.

My parents decided to watch it with me because they watched it as a tv show when they were a kid. I watched it because I think Armie Hammer (the guy who plays the Lone Ranger) is hot. Anyway, the movie tracks a man trying to get redemption for the killing of his brother by a gang leader in the west Butch. He's helped by an Native American named Tonto and the two help track him down and eventually defeat him.

The acting in this ranged form really good to really bad. Johnny Depp managed to do really well in his role as he was born for character parts (even though I'm 99% sure his part was offensive). Armie Hammer proved that he can't act to save his life but he can manage to look pretty. You could tell it was produced by Walt Disney Company, because the shots were very basic and not as artistically creative. The really only good shot was a tracking shot across the dessert when we were following the Texas Rangers hunt for Butch.

My mom is from Texas so I know a few things about a good Western and this was not one. If I had to recommend a good Western I would recommend True Grit and Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Please don't waster your time with fake Western Disney crap.
