That Sugar Film
6/10

This Sugar Film was absolutely fantastic.... With a few exceptions. Overall I was I intrigued at the concept; I knew it was going to be a health documentary, but I didn't realize to the extent it would relay its message. By going in and basically relying on his own personal experience he makes it a fairly relatable concept, thus adding to its credibility. There were a few places within the content I felt lacked credibility, such as the fact stated previously and the fact they did not conduct a full-scale study, but at the same time, the documentary points out that such a study would take 5 years to accomplish.
As for film technique, it wasn’t different from what you’d expect: closeups of people living their lives zoom-ins of various advertisements of the sugar industry, but nothing extraordinary. There were a few places where I felt the special effects added in were a little too much, but would be effective for say a young teenager or a while watching it. The main thing that bumped it down a notch was the closing scene where he goes into this cheesy song villainizing sugar more than they already have; it was overkill.

I'd still recommend this to anyone though!
